Summer Housing

Westminster College offers a limited amount of spaces for summer housing each summer in Berlin Village, this typically ranges from 16-20 beds available. Berlin Village is our Townhouse complex on campus that features four private bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, in-unit laundry, and central air conditioning. Students can request to stay for the entire duration or part of the summer. The summer housing rate is $31 per day.

Due to our limited occupancy, our housing process is slightly different where they may be a mixture of genders in our Townhouses to properly fit all of the students. If this occurs, our primary preference is that we separate students by gender by floors in the Townhouses. We will ask students for their preferences but may not be able to honor them based on availability.

We typically begin offering summer housing the week after graduation and allow students to stay in the spring assignments until the space is cleaned and ready for students to move in. Additionally, for any students staying past the beginning of August, we ask these students to move to their fall assignments so we can properly prepare our summer housing Townhouses for the academic year.

During Summer Housing, we will not have Residence Life student staff available, however Residence Life professional staff will be available for support and guidance as needed. Additionally, Public Safety will still be operating on a 24/7 basis in the summer. Please know that other services and offices outside of this may be closed or have different summer hours.

If students are interested in summer housing or have any questions, please reach out to residencelife@westminster.edu for the Summer Housing Application & Contract.

Summer Storage

Westminster College will also be providing summer storage to students on a first come first serve basis. Students will be permitted a maximum of 5 items to be stored over the summer. A maximum of 3 boxed items such as cardboard boxes, plastic storage containers, luggage, and/or small items in original packaging which should be no larger than 32x18x15 and 2 unboxed items which can be futons, mini-fridges, microwaves, and/or other small furniture items not in boxes. Boxes and tape will be provided by Residence Life based on approval of requests. Westminster will not be allowing the storage of items in individual residence hall rooms, regardless of residency for the following Academic Year.

Summer storage will be located in two areas: Ferguson Hall and Eichenauer Hall. Ferguson Hall is the designated location for students residing in Shaw, Browne, Galbreath, Ferguson or Thompson House in Fall 2024. Eichenauer Hall is the designated location for students residing in Russell, Eichenauer, Thompson or Berlin Village in Fall 2024. The charge for summer storage will depend on the student’s need for boxes provided by Student Affairs. A $10 flat fee will be applied to your student account if you request boxes. This is a non-refundable and non-transferable fee.

Applications will be available April 15, 2024 and we ask that applications are turned into residencelife@westminster.edu by Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at noon. Students will be sent out an appointment information once approved and are responsible for delivering their own items to the assigned storage location. Appointments will be available April 30-May 2 and May 7-9 from 7-9 p.m.
